Start with New assessment, Generate with AI (subject, role, level, how many and which types) or Import a paper. Organise questions into sections with instructions, an optional time limit, shared passages and figures, and an optional Random draw so each candidate gets a different paper.

Question typeMarking
Multiple choice (one answer)Automatic.
Multiple choice (several answers)Automatic, all or nothing.
True / falseAutomatic.
NumericAutomatic, with a small tolerance.
Fill in the blankAutomatic; up to 12 accepted answers, ignoring case, spaces and punctuation.

Short answerAI-graded against your model answer.
Long answerAI-graded with your rubric.

Questions can have pictures, formulas, negative marks, a time limit, tags and a difficulty. Preview as candidate shows the test without the answer keys.

Import a question paper

Upload a PDF, a Word file or photos of the pages (PNG, JPG or WebP), up to 30 MB and 40 pages, in English, Hindi, Telugu or a mix. Add the answer key as text (such as “1-C 2-B …”) or as a file. Each page is read in turn, then you review it side by side with the page image: fix questions, re-crop pictures, split or merge, and mark low-confidence questions as reviewed. Publish as assessment turns it into a normal test.

Camera, microphone and screen recording

Where:BuildAssessmentsan assessmentDetails & settingsRecording and proctoring

Set Camera, Microphone and Screen each to Off, Optional or Required. Required means the test can't start until it is on; Optional lets the candidate decline. All three are off by default.

OptionWhat it does
Entire screen onlyRefuses a shared window or tab, so nothing else on the screen is hidden.
If a required recording stopsHide the test until it is back on (the clock keeps running), or let the candidate carry on and flag it.
QualityLow, standard or high. Higher quality means larger uploads.
Show candidates their own cameraA small preview in the corner of the test.
Delete recordings afterDays after the test is submitted (180 by default; 0 keeps them).

Before starting, the candidate is told what is recorded and for how long it is kept, then turns each source on and sees their camera and a microphone level. Recording runs for the whole test and uploads in two-minute pieces as it goes, so a dropped connection or a closed tab loses at most the last couple of minutes. If the page reloads, the candidate is asked to turn recording on again. Screen recording needs a laptop or desktop browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox).

Reviewers watch the screen and camera side by side on the attempt page, under Recordings. Moments to check lists events such as leaving the tab or stopping the screen share; clicking one moves both recordings to that moment. Delete recordings removes them for good; marks and events stay.

The test page uses your brand kit: logo, tagline, colours and font.

Spoken explanations

Ask candidates to explain their approach out loud on every question, on chosen questions only, or optionally. They can type instead if you allow it. The AI transcribes each explanation, scores the reasoning from 0 to 10 and checks it matches the answer. You decide how much it counts in the score (0% means reviewers only see it).

Send a test

Add an Assessment test step to the pipeline, or press Send assessment on an application. The candidate gets a link and a 4-digit passcode, and reminders before the link expires. Answers are saved as they go and survive a reload; the clock keeps running.

Results and integrity

Where:RoundsAssessment results

Every attempt with its score, pass or below, time taken and integrity signals. Objective questions are marked at once. Written answers are read three times by the AI; unsure ones are marked Needs a read for a person.

Integrity signals, such as leaving the tab, are shown to reviewers and never change a mark by themselves. Five or more tab switches flag the application.

On an attempt you can Override mark, Regrade, Extend (more days or extra minutes), Void it so a new link can be sent, or re-analyse the explanations.
