Two kinds of template
| Kind | Used by | Per question |
|---|---|---|
| Phone screening | The calling agent in round 1. Up to eight questions fit on a call: those ticked Always ask on the call are kept first, then the others in order. | Answer time (20–240 s), follow-up depth (Light, Normal: one follow-up if the answer is thin, or Deep: up to two) and Always ask on the call. |
| AI interview | The AI interviewer in round 2. Every question is asked, so there is no tick. | Time limit (30–900 s) and, when harder questions are on, an optional If they answer very well note. |
You choose the kind when you create the template (New call template or New interview template), and it cannot change once a role uses it. Browse HumanEQ library adds a ready-made set you can then edit. Pick templates for each role on its Screening tab.
Write the questions
Each template has a title, a description for your team, a difficulty and an estimated duration. Each question has its text and an Expected answer that is never shown to candidates and guides the scoring.
On AI interview templates, Harder questions for strong answers sets how many harder questions the interviewer may add when a candidate answers very well: Off, Light (up to 1), Standard (up to 2, the default) or Deep (up to 3). Every template question is still asked, and harder questions only add a small bonus to the score. A question's private If they answer very well note says where a harder question should go; left empty, the interviewer chooses.
Generate with AI drafts questions from a role title and description, how many you want and the difficulty. Untick the ones you do not want, then Add them.
A template used by a role cannot be deleted. Change the role's screening setup first.
